In a recent article, I shared my experience experimenting with UI components in Codex using Astra.

My goal was to see what Astra could create when following a consistent set of design rules and clear prompts, while still making its own layout decisions.
For anyone interested in trying this approach, I’ve compiled the rules and prompts into two downloadable Markdown files. These resources give you a starting point for building your own components and show how different prompts can shape the results.
The rules provide a unified visual foundation, covering typography, spacing, color, imagery, and controls. Each prompt explains what the component should do and communicate. I refined the rules as I reviewed Astra’s output, making adjustments wherever I saw room for improvement.
If you’re new to the process, I suggest reading the original article (coming this week) for practical examples and reflections. From there, you can experiment with the prompts, tailor the rules to fit your needs, and discover the directions Astra can take them.
